It’s been a terrible oversight on my part, but I haven’t posted some really great news in the family yet. On October 10th, we had puppies! I’ll be keeping one and training it as my hawking dog. There are 7 pups, 4 boys and 3 girls. The mother is our English Setter, Sis and the father is an Red Setter out of one of our previous litters, Richie. We brought Richie back to do the deed because he was the closest we could come to the Bonnie and Rags hunting line that we’d had previously. Bonnie is fixed and Rags was lost some years ago, but all three dogs are out of the same litter of ours. I didn’t care so much about a purebred, just a good hunter. The pups are now 3 weeks old and moving about, barking, and making puddles all over the floor. Such sweethearts! See the pictures after the jump.
